What is Shariiing XR ?

Shariiing XR is a plugin for Unity. Added to your immersive application, the plugin allows you to connect it to a screen equipped with Shariiing Advanced, and thus interact with the immersed user from the Shariiing Advanced screen. 

Other development platforms and software on the market are currently being studied to extend the compatibility of this plugin. 

How do I use Shariiing XR ?

We've all tried our hand at training or guiding someone through a headset, and it's not always a simple task. 

Shariiing XR has been developed to add a new dimension to your immersive applications, making them more collaborative. Communication becomes easier. 

Connected to the Shariiing platform, your applications facilitate exchanges within the group, between immersed people and outsiders.  

The immersive solution enables the integration of virtual and augmented reality headsets into the Shariiing collaborative environment, simultaneously displaying all types of information in support of your exchanges. 

To date, the most popular helmets of the moment are compatible with Shariiing XR: 

As well as more complex platforms, such as Powerwalls and CAVEs, using MiddleVR for Unity. 

Why use Shariiing XR ?

The aim is to offer an intuitive interface to link two universes - immersive environments, via XR headsets in particular, and the real world - in order to secure decision-making or promote better learning.  

In this way, users can interact both locally and remotely: they can “point”, place a marker, guide the user's gaze, or add a note to the 3D scene. 

Shariiing XR features

Shariiing XR offers a number of features that allow users to be guided by annotations, points of interest and comments. 

Joining a Shariiing session, from a headset or immersive system, is extremely simple. Simply enter the Shariiing session code into the immersive application, then share the XR content with a single click.

The round orange menu, called the Hub, will follow you throughout your session.  You can pin it at any time using the “pin” icon. 

The “crossed-out eye” icon lets you hide comments. 

And the “arrow” icon lets you disconnect from the Shariiing session at any time. 

From the XR vignette, displayed on the Shariiing screen, you can guide the person using points of interest on the ground or arrows that appear directly in the visual field of the helmet or immersive system to catch their eye.  

You'll also have an ephemeral annotation tool, a kind of 3D laser pointer, so you can highlight an element in real time to attract attention.

Finally, you'll be able to send comments for more precise indications, by attaching them to an object on the XR stage.  You can also classify your notes using a color-coded system. This information can be exported at the end of the meeting, so that you can retrieve it in a format for easier processing.
